We are still counting heads for the oyster roast. If you haven't RSVP'd please do so and remember to note the number of people coming and the number eating oysters. At this count we have 31 oyster eaters which means we won't buy nearly as much as we have in years past. We hate to run out, but we also don't like to waste them.

We thought we should provide a little more info for the roast.

1. Please don't bring dogs. We love them and have a great doggie playground, but we have a German Shepherd that is scared of other dogs and isn't a very good host - if you get my drift. They both love humans large and small, but we wouldn't want to see dog wars.

2. Please let us know if you will need electrical support for chili pots or such. We like to be prepared in advance, and there is always lots of demand for outlets.

3. If the gates at the bottom of the driveway are closed, there is a button at the driver's side window to open them. They close in 20 seconds. Don't tailgate behind others if there is hesitation with traffic. They can close on your car. Just wait them out and push the button again. (We will try to have them standing open but no guarantees.)

4. New visitors will be able to recognize our house by the large metal pint glass beside the mailbox indicating the spot.

If we think of anything more, we will add details later. I will place the oyster order next Saturday so please add your headcount if you haven't.

Please add two to the count. One will eat three oysters before she remembers she only eats them fried, and one will just look at everyone like they're crazy.

Much of the auction paraphenalia is beer oriented and can be anything from start-up supplies to Jim's metal work - there is a very wide variety though and a lot has nothing to do with beer. You just have to experience it.

I stopped to tell Harvest Hope Food Bank they will be the recipients of our charitable contributions. They are delighted. They gave me a list of their most needed items, so I thought it may help as you shop.

Canned Goods: meat, vegetables, fruit, tomato sauce, beans, soup, stews, pop-top cans, evaporated milk
Dry Goods: peanut butter, rice, instant potatoes, cereal, oatmeal, grits, coffee, crackers, powdered milk, beans
Personal items: diapers, baby wipes, soap, shampoo, feminine products, tootpaste
Other: new/used black pens and markers, paper bags, plastic bags, detergent, pet food

I am ordering oysters this morning which means we are on rain or shine. The weather could go either way. Keep your fingers crossed for sunshine.

Sorry for the late notice, and it prob'ly doesn't matter as the oysters have been acquired, but I have recruited 4 aspiring homebrewers to come out on Saturday. All four eat oysters if there are enough to go around. Hopefully the weather won't scare them off.

Can someone post the house address and/or a google map link? I've been there many times, but need it for the newbies.

Thanks!

Oysters are ordered, so we are on rain or shine. We ordered one extra box, so bring everyone. Don't worry about preregistration. We have a large shed, barn, and basement. We can manage the bad weather if it comes. Don't let it scare you away.

Dress for cold; we can rough it. Mike has committed to keeping the fire burning even if it's crappy out. Laughing (Have at it Mike!)

I am too gun shy about posting the address this publically, and we have an issue with a sick administrator. Call Jim if you need directions. Leave your email address with him, and we will send them. 864-320-0003

Hi, my name is Hang To. I met Daniel McCord, a member of Upstate Brewtopians,at Barleys last night. He mentioned to me about the oyster roast. I would like to come. I hope I am not too late. I would like to RSVP for 3 people. Only two of us will be eating oysters. Please e-mail me the time and directions to the place. Thank you. Looking forward to meet everyone.
