In Brewboy's absence, I convened the August meeting of the Upstate Brewtopians. Many thanks to Twister for opening his beautiful new home to us. The barbeque was excellent.
This meeting featured the hefeweisen challenge. There were seven entries (see the list below), and they were all very good. Stevo took home the coveted beer mug pendant for his Bravo Weiss, which was a hefeweisen with a touch of lemon.' Hefeweisen Challenge Beers

There was much discussion today about the Brewgrass Festival on Sept. 20. Apparently, tickets are sold out except for designated driver tickets. Like last year, we plan to bring the Upstate Brewtopian banner to the festival and establish a base camp.
The September meeting will be on September 13 in Laurens at Brewconasoor's house.
